Answers, Part XV (try these)

Sorry, folks. Something went wrong with the previous post of set No. 15, anyway, here is it, and sorry for the mix up. Kind of went right along with my day.
I will have a set or two of answers tomorrow, plus all the game preview stuff.

How is the coaching staff (CRN, Chow, and Walker) getting along, and if you could
guess the chances of Walker staying beyond this year the way the D is performing,
what would you give?
The staff is getting along fine. There are minor disagreements, which I deem healthy, because each has ideas. But there is no in-fighting, as far as I can tell, and each enjoys working with the other. As far as Walker staying, if the defense doesn’t improve, I don’t know if he will have many other options.

The staff maintains (and the media reports) that Micah Kia is an NFL talent…now
he’s on the bench. The staff maintains (and the media reports) that Dom Johnson is an NFL talent…now he’s on the bench. Why does the staff hate NFL talent?
There is a big difference between being talented and being a good player. Yes, those kids have physical talent, but Johnson is on record saying he doesn’t work hard. And Kia’s toughness has become an issue. When they say NFL talent, they are talking physical attributes.

Is there some kind of “SI curse” attacking the Bruin players profiled by the media?
Not that I know of, but I do see plenty of witch doctors hanging around Spaulding Field.

Why does Neuheisel try to manage the team through the media?
Speculating that the players could “prepare a little harder” seems like
a putdown. If he feels that way, shouldn’t he just the players that and leave the media out of it?

I’m going to go out on a limb and say this is not the first time Neuheisel made his players aware of how he was feeling. I also have no problem with Neuheisel not trying to sugar coat what is going on, and making his players accountable for not working as hard as the coaching staff wants them to work.

Neuheisel meltdown
throws players under the bus
has he lost the team?
Give me a break, please
This is not high school j.v.
Other schools work that hard

have u asked if the o-line is starting to enjoy the attention now that they are
improving? cuz when have the names of the entire depth chart of the o-line stolen
so much spotlight in hollywoodland??? =)
I did talk to most of the members of the offensive line during the week, and while they are pleased to have run the ball better against Fresno State, they are the first ones to say they must get markedly better, and prove they can be consistent. But I will agree, I’ve never written so much about an offensive line before.

Is there any thought that Datone Jones may be moved to DT in the future?
Not that this time. I’m sure if he bulks up big time it is possible, but his size, frame and athleticism scream defensive end.

What happened to Tobi Umodu?
He is playing fullback, but is behind Chane Moline on the depth chart.
