A different look

UCLA wing Josh Shipp is in markedly better shape as the Bruins ready for the season, down 13 pounds from last season to 210.
How did he do it?
"Work out and eat right,'' he said.
It also helped Shipp was finally able to work out. Many of his past offseasons were spent either recovering from surgery, or trying to avoid surgery.
"I was finally healthy and I could do things,'' Shipp said. "I didn't have as much pain. Basically, no pain. It was being able to work out and not worry about anything."

I think a lot of UCLA's success is going to hing on Shipp. He doesn't need to be on fire all season, but he can't go on cold streaks for extended periods of time.

Looking for a Dijon Thompson performance from his senior year ... only with a much better supporting cast.

Ever try shooting baskets unguarded, and only make 40% on a bad day, and 60% on a good day?

That is why basketball teams with outstanding inside play do better on average than guard-oriented teams.
