Here is the fifth installment:

Is UCLA still in the lead for DE Kennan Graham. It seems as if USC is making a late strong push
I know UCLA is still heavily involved, but there are some other big-time schools that could be tough to beat when it is all said and done.

Why didn't Howland recruit Lil' Romeo?
I never asked him, but usually when UCLA doesn't recruit someone, it is because Howland doesn't think he can play at UCLA.

Given the fact that Jeff Tedford's teams are known for melting down mid-season, is a UCLA upset this weekend likely?
I think there is a chance for it, but usually Cal gets beaten by teams that can put up points. I don't think UCLA can do that, even though I'm sure Tedford will do his best to give the Bruins a chance by questionable play-calling and personnel moves.

Do you sense any tension between Chow and Neuheisel now due to the Craft situation?
Absolutely none. I thought there would be, but their relationship is tremendous.

With only two more home games left, who are the biggest targets for unofficial visits? Anyone confirmed for the OSU game in a couple of weeks?
I don't know of anyone confirmed yet, and to start listing who is going to visit, unofficially no less, in five or six weeks is fruitless. Suffice to say, though, I expect UCLA to have a bundle of guys at the USC game at the end of the season. It will be a huge list, and it will be filled with talent.

Who or what determines whether a time out is a "Media Time Out" or a "30 second time out"?
Television decides it. A media time out means television wants to run commercials. A 30 second time out means no commercial break.

With the new President will USC be forced to redistribute some 5* football players? Or if the other guy comes from behind will the rich keep getting richer making it harder for us to catch up?
That's funny. Good one. I needed that chuckle. Sorry to say, though, until someone more important to 'SC fans than the President (ya' know, that Carroll) leaves USC, I think UCLA will be second-class citizens.

Any news you can share regarding Pete Carroll leaving USC? I know you don't like to deal in rumors but maybe "whispers" you've been hearing?
I don't deal in rumors, but folks close to him told me for years he would leave for San Francisco if he was given total control of the organization's player-personnel. So, if that happens, I think there is a chance he would leave.

Tedford says, "uh-oh"
endures twenty point beat down
Hippies lose again?
Even Tedford can't
Mess up this game for Cal Bears
More Bruin road woes

Since we seem to be putting Craft in the shotgun more often lately, do you think we should be running more of those Maddox-era draw plays? Is it easier for the backs to pick up blitzes from the shotgun?
It also is more difficult to disguise a running game out of the shot-gun. Plus, UCLA doesn't have a running back who can bolt through a hole off a draw or delay. As far as picking up the blitz, it should be easier, but not by much.

When you post the daily notebook and other articles in the blog, any chance we can have them open up in a new window?
I think if you hold down the control button when you click on the link, it will open another window. It does for me, but I use Firefox.

Right click your mouse on the link and it will say "Open link in new window."

Control simulates the right-click for mac-users. Right-click and "open link in new-tab" is a good one too...

Re: Neuheisel-Chow - I thought Coach Neuheisel being so utterly open about his frustrations with Kevin's play in the first half and His listening to his OC's advice showed a lot - first, utter self-confidence in himself and his position by CRN, and also a terrific relationship between the two as well as CRN's deep respect for Coach Chow.

It was also telling that the conversation and decision were based on the facts of the situation and that they wound up agreeing about it - you don't pull the starting QB - the only one who has experience (and even success) running the two minute drill - just before halftime when you have to go into your two-minute drill.

I thought it was just a great thing for Coach Neuheisel to be so open about. Shows a terrific relationship so far as I can tell.
