Answers, Part XI
Here is the 11th set of answers:
If Paulsen redshirts and Moya returns, do you see Harkey, Chandler or Miller returning at tight end?
Harkey and Miller will remain there because that is their positions, and you need more than two tight ends. As for Chandler, I am hearing the staff is leaning toward moving him back to offensive line after the season.
If Brehaut starts next season, do you see Craft staying?
Yeah. What other option does Craft have? He would have to go to a Division I-AA school or lower, and Craft, I don't think fancies himself an NFL quarterback, so getting the UCLA degree is big.
Has the team's effort, in your opinion, been intense enough at practices?
No, but it is much, much better than it has been in most of the last five years. And I don't think it is any fault of the coaching staff.
Do you think the O-line is improving significantly week-to-week, or is this hard
to judge given the quality of our last opponent (Fresno State)?
It is improving, but to what level I am not sure because I don't think Fresno State is very good up front.
do you think ayers will stay at outside lb or eventually become a speed-rush de
a la bruce davis?
I think he stays at linebacker, and I think he has a chance to be a really, really good linebacker.
Why are Geoff and his sweater and side kick the ultimate fans still allowed to have
a microphone during the games? They do nothing to get the crowd going. What would you do to get the crowd more involved and amp'd up during games?
I would get rid of Geoff Strand because I find the whole notion that fans need to be told when to cheer ridiculous. Plus, he tells them to be quiet until a team comes up to the line of scrimmage? Please, the best kind of noise is unrehearsed and without such choreography. And I would get the band more involved to get the fans excited, although a few touchdowns and some stops on defense is the best way.

Does UCLA or The Rose Bowl care at all that the RB has a the most insufficient PA
system of any stadium out there?
I doubt it, because if either entity cared, they would fix it. In the press box, you cannot hear what the officials are announcing on the field.
Does it take you longer to answer the haiku, or the other 120+ questions?
Haikus go much quicker. It's quite simple, and in moderation, gives me a chuckle.
Is there a chance we offer football DB Cliff Harris, or will "outside"
factors play a role?
There is a chance, but I'm not sure how good of one. "Outside'' factors are involved.

About cheers being led - that was how we ALL did it back in the day. Coordinated cheers (and more than just the 8 clap). It was part of the fun; the audience as team of its own in support of the one on the field. Some of us enjoyed that a great deal. That's just the world Geoff grew up in and many of us still appreciate it - I'd far prefer that student yell leaders do the job but if not - anyway, that's why Geoff is still there (not HIS motivation but a whole lot of people who accept him still doing it)
Even though I've not yet finished reading all the sets of answers this week it is clear that is the most entertaining and funny week of q&a yet!
Thanks Brian! Thanks Everyone! Great way to end the week!
