Answers, Part XXIII
Wow, wow, wow. That's all I can say about the number of questions this week. Holy, toledo!!!! This is the final set of a marathon Q&A session, and I thank everyone for the interest.
I will have game coverage tonight and follow-up throughout Sunday. Have a great rest of the weekend, and here is the final set of answers:
Would UCLA now be open to going to the Hawaii Bowl if invited (I know they need a winning record first)? I know in the past they said no because they were not recruiting in that area, but now changed because of Norm Chow.
UCLA would not have a choice because the Hawaii Bowl is tied into the Pac-10, and the school cannot turn down a bowl game that has a conference affiliation. However, UCLA, like it did in year's past when there was a tie-in, may try to negotiate with the Pac-10 and another bowl to stay away from Hawaii.
Does Troy Aikman participate in many UCLA functions? I personally do not consider him a true Bruin because he transferred here, and mainly needed a vehicle to get into the NFL.
He is active within the program and even gave athletic director Dan Guerrero his two cents when it came to the coaching search.
Suggestion for a new feature: Where are they now? Possible former players: Gaston Green, Darryl Henley, John Lee, Jerry Robinson, Freeman McNeil, Kenny Easley, Carnell Lake, J.J. Stokes, KARIM ABDUL-JABBAR, Chris Sailer
I'll look into it, but I don't want to get bogged down with too many weekly features.
Is Osaar Rasshan practicing as a receiver?
Nope. If he was, I would have reported it.
What stage are we at with the Pauley renovation? By the way, is it a renovation or completely new building?
It is a renovation, and the athletic department is still trying to raise enough interest and lead gifts before going public with it. And I don't think the state of the economy is helping very much.
While Pauley is under construction, which temporary locations are the first runners? I was hoping for the Honda Center, but mostly likely around L.A.?
I reported it last year, but for those that didn't see it, the leading place is the Forum because UCLA could be the primary tenant. There would also be a Pac-10 weekend played at the Honda Center, and there is talk of playing a few games at Staples Center.
Do you anticipate football prices increasing next year? Towards Pauley renovation costs?
I don't know about raising ticket prices, but I don't see a correlation between raising ticket prices and Pauley. The amount of money needed for Pauley (at least $120 million) won't cut it by raising ticket prices.
Which FB recruit from last year was the staff most suprised they didn't get a commitment from?
I have no idea, but I think Hemet offensive lineman Hamani Stevens, who chose Oregon on signing day, would qualify.

This is

Both OJ Simpson and Keyshawn Johnson transferred in to USC. So are they not considered trojans?
That take that Aikman isn't a true Bruin because he transferred to UCLA is a joke. Jackie Robinson transferred to UCLA from Pasadena City College. I guess he isn't a true Bruin either.
i cannot believe i read the whole q&a ... it must addiction or something. i wonder if brian can start skipping repeat questions....
Thanks Brian, enjoy the game
OUTSTANDING Q&A's !
Thanks, Brian
Can you do an sc Where Are They Now too? Maybe it can include O.J. Simpson, Todd Marinovich, and Darrell Russell.
Before we get out of hand with the USC/criminal jokes, try googling "Darryl Henley".
