Here is the fourth group:
Brian what do you think of Rahim Moore's season performance, do you think he can make it to the NFL?
I think Moore has played well, given he is a true freshman. He has made some mistakes, missed some reads and reacted late on some plays, but overall he is a tremendous player. I will be stunned if he stays healthy and does not make it to the NFL. In fact, I think he will turn into the best safety in the Pac-10 by the time he's a junior.
Which current basketball player would make the best football player? Aboya at DE? Gordon at TE? Holiday at WR? etc?
I have no idea, and I'm not in the mood for silly questions like this right now.
Some people are saying that Moser can play and is being recruited to play the 2. Is that for real? (hoops)
Yes, that is true. He's a wing, and brings versatility to whatever school he winds up at.
What explains UCLA's tendency in football to field outstanding offenses in some years and superb defenses in other years, but never in the same year? And when one is good the other is awful? I can't think of another team that exhibits such a characteristic.
I don't know. Maybe the coaches on staff only have an eye for talent on one side of the ball, maybe the resources are all put into one side of the ball, and maybe it is just the circle of recruiting.
If (1) Prince is the most talented current QB, (2) Brehaut likely won't start as a true freshman, (3)this season is going nowhere - Wouldn't it make sense to play Prince this year with the expectation that next year he starts and Brehaut redshirts? That way their classes are separated?
So you want to burn a season of Prince's eligibility to play three games? And while Prince would get experience, at what cost is that experience? To play behind a bad offensive line? Plus, if Brehaut red-shirts next season, their classes will be separated. In 2010 Brehaut would be a red-shirt freshman, and Prince would be a red-shirt sophomore.
It's a hell of a time to start fundraising for the Pauley renovation. What's your take on how successful this drive will be in this economic climate? Also, what's the potential for corporate naming rights?
The potential for corporate naming rights is very good. It will happen, but it is just a matter of how it is done. I'm hearing it will be something like Joe Smith Arena at Pauley Pavilion.
As far as fund-raising, it's not the best time, but my understanding is the folks that will fund this project will still have the money to fund this project, even with the economic slowdown.

Week late with haiku
Offense bad before last week
Should beat the Huskies
From what you have seen in practice, is Olson ready to play in one of our last three games?
It's too early to tell. His foot is still giving him some discomfort. He doesn't look goo din practice, but who would after missing three months and practicing for only a few days. The key will be next week, if he can practice during the bye.

Joe Smith Arena at Pauley Pavilion? Why would the Mormon Church give that much money to UCLA?
I keed...
"Week late with haiku"
Classic BD making Friday's the best. Thanks for all of these answers.
I think that the poster asking about why Prince has not gotten any playing experience has a point. It is not just these last 3 games. He could have been a consideration after game 3 or 4, especially considering he came in early for this opportunity at the request of the coaches. Things couldn't have gotten worse and we would have had a downfield threat with his arm.
Just a thought.

The Haiku's are among the best features of this Blog. Keep up the great work!

Thanks
Dohn, why are you grouchy today? Don't want to glean which basketball player would be a good football player? That question isn't important for us to know the answer to? lol.
Prince has not played because he is not ready.
He blew out his knee and is not physically up to the beating that comes with playing behind this O-line. This would have been a mistake. Craft is incredibly tough and has taken more punishment than BO and PC did over the last 1 1/2 years combined and we havent even heard about 1 physical ailment of his. That is amazing.
