Forgetting U-dub
Much was made of UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel's return to Washington. Yes, it was a place he spent four seasons, albeit the last time he coached there was 2002. He said it was emotional heading back to Husky Stadium.
"I hope we can talk about the Bruins and the Huskies from here on, and forget about the messy ending,'' Neuheisel said. "I know it's not going to go away completely because it was a controversial time, but it will be exciting for me when the stories are about the players."
One of the most telling aspects of the "Neuheisel Returns to Seattle" understory was a stroll around campus by a reporter asking students what they thought about RN coming back to the scene of his crimes. None of the underclassment had much of an opinion -- they weren't even enrolled when Rick was the head coach four years ago. Time moves on -- apparently only reporters looking for a story angle remember.
