Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Hope everyone has a great day, spending it with people you want to spend it with.
Here is a story I did on UCLA safety E.J. Woods, and some of the challenges he's experienced in life.
Also, I didn't use it in the story, but I asked Woods what he did while he waited around until 8 p.m. or so for a ride home from school.
"Sometimes homework, sometimes lifted weights, sometimes nothing. Just sit there and chill and listen to my ipod," Woods said. "I think one of the reasons I worked as hard as I did is my counselor, when I first got there ...she saw my transcripts, and she said, 'Where do you want to go?' I said, 'UCLA.' She said, 'Oh, there's no way you're going to go there.' I started chuckling because I've basically been committed since I was a sophomore.''

Good job E.J., great example of not letting anyone get in the way of your goals and dreams! hopefully that counselor has learned something from you and hasnt gone and crushed the dreams of man other kids.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, Jill, and your families.
Pass the stuffing...
I just became a huge fan of E.J. Wooods, keep up the great work!!!!
I have not only become an E.J fan but a fan of the Cummings family. I heard that Kevin is a pretty good receiver. If he does indeed have the talent I hope we offer. Academics will definitely not be an issue. Thanks for the great article Brian!
Great story Brian!
BD please enjoy your Thanksgiving with your family.
Your informative Blog is very much appreciated by all of Bruinaholics...
I visit the blog from all over the world!
Brian, nice article. We so often don't know what a player has gone through to get to UCLA. Some fans should not be so quick to judge and condemn when a player makes a mistake on or off the field. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
