A couple of things I wanted to let folks know.
1. UCLA football is off this week, and will practice Tuesday-Thursday, Saturday.
2. I will be traveling to New York for hoops Wednesday, so Jill Painter will cover football through the weekend.
3. No football press conference today, but hoops coach Ben Howland has a basketball presser today.
4. In trying to make this a one-stop shop for all UCLA needs, I will be adding links to other UCLA blogs and websites. If you know of one that you believe is worthy, and offers insight to UCLA athletics, email me the link at brian.dohn@dailynews.com. I will check it out and post it, providing it is acceptable.

Re: Links...

How about making the current links current before you add further links? The "Stats", "Scores/Schedule", "Roster", etc. links on the right side of the blog show only 2007 stuff.

I realize you're busy but if you're too busy to keep the existing links up to date why are you asking for more? They should be current or removed. They're embarrassing for a blogging site.

I do not think that Brian Dohn will link to BruinsNation. That website is run by homers who said some realy nasty things about Coach Kark Dorrell. Plus, they do not have any kind words for Brian Dohn or the excellent work that he does with his reporting. If you disagree with BruinsNation, you get banned.

My vote is to NOT link to BruinsNation.

For basketball specifically, BBR (www.bruinbasketballreport.com) is incredible. BruinsNation is the best non-media resource for UCLA information on the web, on the whole. That having been said, the people that run the blog are intolerant, intolerable, ignorant, and ignoble. They put forward an extremely negative face with regards to UCLA's presence in the general sports blogging community, and they're proud of that fact.

To borrow from EDSBS, one of the largest CFB blogs on the web. From '07: "Bruins Nation’s Mullah Nestor issues the yearly fatwa on Karl Dorrell, calling 2007 his “show-me” year. 11-1, beating USC, and a Pac-10 championship. And a pony, too! Gimme gimme gimme gimme!"

Very healthy.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
