JUCO recruiting
I'll have more on this in Monday's paper, but UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel spoke about his staff scouring the junior colleges for offensive linemen. I asked him if he was confident a few players could be found that are of the caliber UCLA desires, and can also get into UCLA, he said he wouldn't go that far.

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
Wow now they are going to check out JCs they should've been doing that all year. I realize they are hoping to get fine HS players, but when you need help right away you go to JCs. But if you wait too long they will be gone, well UCLA has always had a problem with jc players for years. My friend at Cerritos was LO Romar they let him go to Washington and he really wanted to go Ucla and they needed a PG at the time.
I think we just need one OL and one DL from the JC ranks. Not a few guys

What about this DT, Brabdon Warner, from Compton College. He says that he has been offered by UCLA, and they are his leader.
Maybe we should hijack Boise State's recruiting list... those guys do well every year and would probably love to play close to their families in SoCal.... assuming they can get into UCLA.
