Moser update

Just got off the phone with the mom of Grant High of Portland (Ore.) forward Mike Moser, and she said he will announce his decision Wednesday at 6 p.m. While I'm hearing it is between USC and UCLA, his mother, Jeanie, said "I know those are two he's thinking about, but there may be another one."

I just got off the phone with Mike and he said he is not going to commit anytime soon. He would like to attend the UBTA tailgate though for the $UC game, whats for lunch?

I try to be somewhat neutral on this site, but Moser, I have only one thing to say to you:

U-S-C, U-S-C, U-S-C!

Fight on.

Demetrius Walker just changed his commitment from SUC to ASU, so my guess is that Moser will head to SUC to fill that void. If he wants to be NIT bound with the trOJIes who are going to be hit by the OJ Mayo SCandal then he should choose SUC.

Plus he'll be able to play with Lil Romeo at SUC unless Lil Romeo decides to be a one and done player...LOL.

I should have a chance to talk with Moser in the morning. Please don't believe any report out there. Lots of poor journalism going on and I'm trying to keep everyone in line.

Hmmm...if I'm a young, talented basketball player and I have my choice of colleges narrowed down to between UCLA and U$C my thought process would go something like this: UCLA - 11 National Championships in men's BB with #12 just around the corner, U$C - 0.0; UCLA - world class institution of higher learning with over 30,000 applications submitted each year to fill less than 8000 slots for incoming students, U$C - 30,000 applications submitted each year for football season tickets; UCLA - play pickup games with Baron Davis, Jordan Farmar, Trevor Ariza and Russell Westbrook. USC - hangin' with Lawyer John, Only The Truth and O.J. (oops, skip that); UCLA - tuition paid, room and board, U$C - $100 handshakes with boosters, going to raves in warehouses in South Central...that's it, I'm signing with the Trojans...

Mario, you're hillarious! But in all seriousness, how the hell is this even a subject to try and weigh in on? suc or UCLA?? Corruption, or Championship possibilities? Come'on Moser, this is easy.

Go Bruins

Let's take this debate one step further:

ucla-- in basketball one national championship in 33-years, one football championship in 1954 (co at that);
be influenced by drug-consuming football players and girlfriend-beating basketball players;
get an illegal placard because you ain't findin no parkin around here;
be surrounded by 4.0 students with no personality;
no famous alums show up at the games;

ONLYTHETRUTH Author Profile Page said:

Got cut off:

ucla (continued):

in school for 4-years and then forget ol' ucla;
no lifetime bruin friends;
dilapidated Pauley Pavilion;
don't teach geography at ucla i.e. SC is not in South Central;
too few pretty girls;
getting to watch Kevin Craft

Brian,
Do you know you know if his announcement will be televised?

The truth is that if this kid is as good as advertised, he is not thinking about a degree anyway, so you can drop the argument about academics. SO, the question would be how hard does he want to work during the one year he is actually in school. Choosing SC didn't hurt Mayo (it may hhurt the school, but OJ doesn't care).

Now for USC:

11 football national championships and 5 No. 2s;
Basketball was in Elite-8 recently and is a Top-20 team;
In school for 4-years, and then a Trojan for life;
lifetime college friends;
Galen Center;
Matt Leinart, Carson Palmer and Lendale White;
famous alums return for the games;
Hollywood loves SC football;
top educational school with fine graduate schools i.e.
law, dental etc.
Top-10 party school;
Part of the real Los Angeles-- downtown!

Document Review John, who are you trying to convince? Nick Lachey? The inner-city? Thug-life?

I'm sorry you didn't have the #'s for UCLA, I really I am...but you seem to have done just fine for yourself...we know you have a lot of free time/bad takes on just about everything...

Good luck with that...

For an attorney, your analytical skills leave something to be desired Document Review John. Allow me to fill in some of the gaps:

Basketball was in Elite-8 recently
(that's what you're going with? Really? Congrats on that.)

lifetime college friends;
(wow, that could never happen @ UCLA)

Galen Center;
(why doesnt anyone show up if its so great?)

Matt Leinart (who?) Carson Palmer (1-8-1) and Lendale White (fat)

famous alums return for the games (Nick Lachey!!)

Hollywood loves SC football; (actors' IQs are lower than what it takes to get into SUC)

top educational school with fine graduate schools i.e.
law, dental etc. (UCLA doesnt have that! Wait, we're ranked HIGHER)

Top-10 party school; (no place to party at UCLA...too bad Hollywood is over 5 mins away...why do all the SC kids come to Santa Monica to party?)

Part of the real Los Angeles-- downtown! (lol, the bums make you feel like you're close to SC?)

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
