Motivation for the month

UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel said the young players have motivation to build something for future seasons, but the seniors need to buy into the final three games for another reason.
"The hard part is for the guys who have only three games left, or guaranteed three games left, to stay motivated," he said. "But as I told them, we all signed on here to be UCLA Bruins, and I'm not phasing you out. You're still in there. Be the guys that put the shovel in the ground right now in building this thing, and you could be in that turning point game and remember it.''

On the other hand that shovelful of dirt could be for piling on the gravesite that is UCLA Football without support from the Administration.

DWalk is soon gone. Chow is mailing it in during his twilight years. CRN will continue to run full steam into the brick wall. All for nothing.

I can see it now, beat UW, beat ASU, then win one for the seniors against SUC!

Relentlessly possitive right?

Everyone take a deep breathe! It amazes me that the fan base expected any miracles this year. When will the faithful face the facts --- UCLA football is horrible this year. The program needs to be rebuilt. That is why there were changes at the helm and Offensive Coordinator. Please, give them half the chance we all gave Dorrell. Just half the chance. I, too, held out false optimism after the Tennessee win. But it turned out to be false hope. The BYU loss snapped me back into reality. But, I arrive at O'dark Thirthy for every game, tailgate with the fam and lose my voice cheering for the team. It will come back. JUST BE PATIENT!

Yea i hate how on the many bruin sites i regularly check there are those that say something to the effect of "For those who were lucky enough not to attend or watch the game, here's what you missed" followed by all our team does wrong. I live in the middle of nowhere, attending a FCS school. But i've never lost all hope for the team, and i would love to go to even one game. I attended Western vs UCLA in basketball last year on a family vacation. I stopped by the rose bowl but the guy wouldn't let me go inside. Be happy you live close enough to attend these games, and please always cheer on the team. I know it's rough, but our team IS rebuilding. Remeber Alabama last year? UCLA can build itself up again, and i think it will. Half the time i can't listen or watch the game even online, but i still make all the attempts in the world to. Don't just keep the faith, keep the fanhood!!

Perhaps it is sour grapes, but out of Washington and Colorado the word is that Coach Neu is a good recruiter but only an average coach.

He definitely is a good cheerleader unless your name is Kevin Craft.

Have to give a guy 3-years at a new program to properly evaluate him.

So we shall see.

Nine games and we are already to get rid of him. Be patient people. Should Michigan run out Rich Rodriguez. Takes time to build the program. Chow, Walker, RN can only work with what they have

While that may be the rumor, I know of another great recruiter who is an average coach...Pete Carroll. We just cant pay our guys or allow agents into the locker room.

I say we take that first scoop and throw it in suc's face then plant them with the shovel to the back of the skull. Too violent or just right? That's funny, I heard Neuheisel was a great coach and a bad recruiter. Someone has to be wrong. I'd like to think he's a good recruiter and a good coach. We shall see.

You should have a win this weekend - the UW Huskies are probably the worst BCS football team in the country right now. As for Neuheisel, didn't people in Seattle warn you all of you about him? Today, here in Seattle, he is in the Seattle Times claiming that the Huskies would be a strong program if he had stayed. Yeah, right... The football program had been gradually declining, fewer wins every year he stayed, more arrests of players for off-field incidents, more players in academic trouble, more NCAA investigations, he really made the Huskies stronger. How long is UCLA going to keep this guy, the hype machine?

Actually, he is a bad coach AND a bad recruiter.
