Pac problems
When UCLA hosted Stanford last month, the prevailing thought was the Cardinal needed to win to get a bowl. It turned out to be true as Stanford was beaten 37-16 by Cal to finish 5-7 and miss going to a bowl game.
Now the Pac-10 will have, at most, six bowl-eligible teams despite seven bowl tie-ins. And that number can shrink to five since UCLA (at Arizona State, vs. USC) and Arizona State (vs. UCLA, at Arizona) must win their final two games to get there.
USC, Oregon State, Oregon, Cal and Arizona are bowl eligible.
Washington, Washington State and Stanford are not bowl eligible.

Washington/Washington St. had there own bowl type of game today!
The league really was junk this year. It is sad that only 5 teams qualify for a bowl. I think the only reason Arizona is going to a bowl is that UCLA, UW, and WSU fell back so far. I expect AZ to go back into the toilet next year.
UCLA is still bowl eligible!
the league was bad, but the pac 10 still has a chance of having 2 teams in the major bowls! crazy
Honestly, this is a great situation for the Pac 10. Most schools take a loss on these lower tier bowl games, I believe this was why in 01 or 02 UCLA declined a bowl invitation to some random bowl.
If Oregon State can hang on and win the Civil War, that's an additional 5 million for the Pac to split between the 10 schools. Watching the crapple cup today, that money is sorely needed. UW could tear out their track and hire some good assistance. WSU could use the money to expand their recruiting budget since there are no good players to draw from locally.
Brian, don't you mean that number WILL shrink to 5, since it is impossible for UCLA and Arizona State to both win their 2 remaining games since they will be playing each other!!!
nothing is impossible!
