Q&A with Kahlil Bell

| | Comments (10) |

Here are the answers to your questions for the Q&A with UCLA RB Kahlil Bell:

Q: Star Wars or Star Trek?
A: Star Wars. Killing (Star Trek). There's no comparison.

Q: Which Bruins football player is the most likely to become a politician after
college?
A: Craig Sheppard.

Q: Who would you say you pattern your running style after?
A: I really like Steven Jackson of the St. Louis Rams, and Clinton Portis. They're not my favorite, but I really like how they run.

Q: Which one of the freshman running backs do you like watching in practice?
A: I don't really get to watch them, but I hear Jonathan Franklin and Milton Knox are making some vicious cuts and nice moves. Maybe if we make a bowl game we'll get to see those guys in action in a fulltime scrimmage.

Q: PS3 or Xbox360?
A: Wow. You're really going to put me in that position? Right now, Xbox 360 because I have one already. But as soon as I get a PS3, it will be a PS3. I'm a Sony guy. When God of War 3 comes out, I'll be on PS3 as soon as that hits the market.

Q: Which player or coach spends the most time of his hair?
A: You're going to get me in trouble. Shoot. Probably Coach (Wayne) Moses, because he has a bald head.

Q: Best class you've taken at UCLA? Worst class you've taken at UCLA?
A: I really enjoyed all my theatre classes. I really enjoy acting. Hopefully, one day I can get into that field. Those are by far my favorite classes at UCLA.
Worst? Math 2. I don't even remember what it was (about). It was so hard. It was just a bunch of numbers. It was tough.

Q: Did you vote in the presidential election, and for whom?
A: I voted, and I'm proud to say I voted for Barack Obama, the first African American president in the history of our country. I'm extremely excited about what he's going to get done in the next four years.

Q: Which NFL team would you like to play on?
A: Honestly, it's a dream just to make it to the NFL, so whoever is willing to pay me to play football would be a dream in itself. I really don't care. I'm just hoping to get there one day. Planning on it.

Q: What coach is the biggest screamer?
A: Coach (Frank) Gansz is probably the biggest screamer overall, but offensively, probably Coach (Bob) Palcic. Overall, Gansz. Most definitely.

Finally some answers with some substance! Not to hate, but a lot of the previous QA sessions gave us one word answers, which made it seem like the players didn't really care about the questions.

that question is a snoooozer. the kid will always say "its a dream of mine to play in the L, so any team"

Apparently, Coach Gansz's screaming has fallen on deaf ears...there are "holler" guys and then there are "take charge" guys and Gansz is one of the former and not one of the latter...fire him already...

Brian, can you add "and why?" to each question? I think it would help get these guys to give more complete answers.

Example: Q: Which Bruins football player is the most likely to become a politician after
college? A: Craig Sheppard.

Why? Is it because he is the smartest one on the team? Does he give great speeches? Does he have nice hair and look good in a suit? Does he like hunting from a helicopter? Is he interested in being a community organizer?

Overall I really like this new feature of the blog and its great to hear directly from the players, but I think with a few minor tweaks it could be a lot more interesting.
