Recruiting, and bowl stuff

| | Comments (2) |

Here is today's notebook, which is heavy on recruiting, including the names of some out-of-staters who are expected to visit UCLA the weekend of the Dec. 6 USC game.
Also, if the Bruins happen to win their final two games and get bowl eligible, they could windup up anywhere from the Emerald Bowl to the Hawaii Bowl to the Pointsettia Bowl.

How about the Nacho Bowl?

It's not going to happen. 13-9 will be the last time in 5-7 years that we beat $c. Without an OL, we could have LaDanian at RB and Brady at QB, and we would still get torched. And I am assuming in 5-7 years, PC may finally decide to go back to the NFL. And that we have a stable coaching staff with experienced veteran players by then.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
