UCLA No. 13/11
UCLA dropped nine spots to No. 13 in the Associated Press men's basketball poll after losing to Michigan and beating Southern Illinois last week. The Bruins fell seven spots, to No. 11, in the coaches poll.

boo.. it was a nice streak we had, being top-10 for a good long while..
That sounds about right. We should have been ranked this high (or low) when the rankings first cam out.
Agree... sounds about right until we can prove otherwise.
I knew we were ranked too high to start the year. We should have started the year at those spots. #4 was very flattering, but wasn't accurate. I think we can be Top5 caliber by the end of the year, but right now we are playing like #13
Shouldn't even start the polls until after about 10-games have been played, and 4 or so games in football. The BCS has it right, not commencing until approximately halfway through the season.
So much of the pre-season speculation is based on last year's team. But most basketball teams change so radically from year-to-year that this is obviously an inexact science.
Fortunately for basketball the polls have little significance because of a playoff system. Not true in football, however, where the polls are everything.
