Here is the 10th set:

What does california need to do to improve their lineman production? Also does UCLA need to start recruiting academic transcripts two yrs in advance before offering players?
The best way for California to improve its lineman production is to have more good lineman from other states move here. Other than that, how do I know. I’m a reporter, not a sociologist.

do you like the recruiting websites out there or despise them?
I don’t mind them, but I find most of the message board posters to be ridiculous, and the attention given to recruits insane. People complain about 17- and 18-year-olds changing their minds and not going to their school, plus the players are bombarded by phone calls non-stop so they can give updates about how often they brush their teeth. I don’t despise them because I have friends that run them, and there is some valuable information on those sites, but I could do without some of the other garbage.

I think this is the first time that I have seen you rank UCLA considerably higher than the rest of the AP. Have you gone soft on us or are you just trying to get more airtime with Howland?
Vacation does that to me. So, expect UCLA to be ranked higher again in a few weeks since I’m readying for a trip to the Papajohns.com bowl.

Brian, is the staff recruiting Billy Sanders as a DE or TE? Is Zach Ertz still a possibility?
Sanders is more of a defensive end, and while Ertz is in the picture, I now see him winding up at Stanford.

Brian, are your sources confident that Stan Hasiak will become a Bruin?
I won’t lie, my sources have some concern about him, but in the end believe he will wind up at UCLA.

before the SC game I asked if UCLA was practicing any trick plays. Was the one that went for a TD the one you saw them practice?
Yes, it was. And there were about five others they had that were not used.

Hey Brian, were you pleased to see UCLA fans bonding with you and voting for the Rutgers soccer jersey last week?
Rutgers soccer jersey? I missed it. What happened. I was on vacation, and one of the great things was I did not turn on a computer for three or four straight days.

No question here Brian, just wanted to say that it is commendable that you continue to take so much time to answer so very many questions. Thanks from us all!
Gracias. Much appreciated. I do it because I think most people really like it, and learn something about their favorite school.

Is there anyone of the D staff that may be considered to replace Walker if he leaves, or will they look outside the program?
I think UCLA would look outside, but right now I don’t think Walker is leaving.
