Answers, Part I
Folks, a crazy number of questions this week. A record number. I will spread the answers over two days, but there will be 20 sets today, beginning with this one:
Are you getting as tired as I am of the comments section of many posts turning into the VB show? Half the time when I see a large number of comments and expect interesting discussion it turns into a bunch of meaningless comments by VB and his affiliates/cronies.
It's not that I get tired of it, but I would like to see more folks participate. I think sometimes people are intimidated by all the posts from him and his cronies. But I do find a lot of them help me with comedic relief.
How was your vacation? What did you do?
Very nice and very relaxing. I played with my kids, laid on my couch and did lots of sleeping. The only thing keeping it from being perfect was the lack of a Rutgers game to attend.
Why is Stan Hasiak listed as a 'soft verbal' now on the recruiting sites? I thought he really liked UCLA.
Some sites list kids as soft verbals when they visit other schools. In Hasiak's case, there is mild concern at UCLA that he could switch.
Is Walker upset about staying at UCLA?
No, but I don't think he's happy about being bypassed for jobs again, especially when he appears equally of more qualified, or a better fit, than some folks getting jobs.
Chow sucked at Titans
Slow start at UCLA
Yoda lost his touch?
Disappointing start
Since I think sucked is more
Than one syllable.
Dohn, Jill and UBTA golf sometime?
Sure. Can we play straight up for money?
Where do you see Morrell Presley committing: USC or UCLA?
By now UCLA. Yeah, I feel pretty strongly about that.
If you are the UCLA coach, what positives do you take away from the USC game?
That it was not a blowout, the kids continued to play hard and the coaching can stop for a while so the recruiting can really heat up.
How close was Walker to getting the SDSU job, and will he consider a bigger payday to possibly head to LSU?
He was the second choice of the administration, and had the backing of several famous alums, including Marshall Faulk. As for LSU, I don't think he will take that job if offered because he makes $375,000 per year at UCLA.

I believe "sucked" is one syllable.
Fine, Anonymous, VB will stop posting so much. I didn't know all you cry-baby Bruins were that sensitive about it.
pfffffffffff
"sucked?" One syllable, Dohn. lol
Anyway, goodbye forever, Bruins. VB shall never post again. Afterall, I want the comments section to be "enjoyable" for all you Bruins.
So long, friends :(
I can't believe that first question. Seems like a little girl tugging at her Mommy's skirt crying.
Talk about wasting readers time, that question really brought down the value of this first set.
I disagree EL CHINGON.
While I value some of the insights that VB and his "cronies" bring from time to time, I don't think the majority of people like reading post after post after post by VB and the UBTA clan. For crying out loud, I know more about their tailgating/seat location than I ever should. He even gave out his cell phone once or twice...tell me that isn't a bit wacky!
I'm also glad Dohn responded like he did. VB needs to understand it isn't an all or nothing thing. He should be part of Dohn's awesome blog, but just needs to not be the kid always talking in class. As he gets older he'll learn and understand that the more you talk, the less people listen.
I look forward to VB's insightful posts and hope this doesn't flame out of control to be 20 comments before I've finished my morning coffee.
well looks to me like vb is gone now. So I would not worry about it.
And one more thing.... I know Dohn probably doesn't prefer that I post 30+ times per blog entry. And I know you guys are sick of seeing "VB" on every single thread. But in the grand scheme of things, it is a blog. And Dohn hasn't set any rules as to how many times a person can comment. if he does, then I will obey.
I'm not sure why is pisses people off so much. I even admitted that I do it because I am entertained by all of you getting your panties in a bunch. At first, it was the content of my posts. Now it is the frequency? Well, I guess VB can't do anything right now.
Regardless, VB will try his best to keep the comments down to one per entry. OKAY? Sound good?
Technically, I am already gone, but I can somehow still post!
Bailey, I totally see where you are coming from. I just think that it is not entirely VB's fault. He'll post something then several people will reply and he will answer them.
I know at times it becomes contentious, but that is the nature of a public blog. Should we blame VB for the SC Troll who posts on here several times per post as "VB's Cat", "VB's Office Plant" and "VB's mini helmet" among other names?
Perhaps it may seem wacky that he gives out his cell phone number, but he is not giving out yours or mine, so how is it affecting us?
I simply advise people to skip his comments if you really feel they are a waste of time. I skip several regulars in the comments section because I don't particularly care for them, but I in no way shape or form want them to be chastised (unless profanity is involved).
Lastly, perhaps other readers will find our comments unnecessary and will ask Dohn to do something about us :)
Have a great day!
Is El Chingon really VB's dad? It wouldn't be the first time he came to his adult son's defense on this blog. People, let your kids fight their own battles. that's how kids grow. bailey said it right.
Fade to Black
I love VB and the UBTA! You guys are hilarious... don't leave! Everyone else on here is boring.
Come on Folks, this is the offseason. It is our time to shine and you are worried about some guy named VB posting to much.
And here I was thinking that I helped make this blog a greener place to be.
I like the comments section the way it is. It is just fine. If you don't like VB's comments, just skip over them. You don't have to read them. Often times, if VB doesn't comment, then there is no comments at all posted. Keep Comments FREE WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS!

just for the record im not a SC troll but i do still have worms. :(
@Anon 9:24 AM
Nope, just a person who doesn't understand why people try to control items they can simply ignore.
It is no secret that there are hardly any African-American coaches in NCAA Division 1. Its a shame, too, because a guy like Coach DeWayne Walker is infintely more qualified than, I hate to say this, but, say Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian. Lane Kiffin has even had a shot at an NFL Head Coaching position, albeit under the evil crumudgeon Alvin Davis. What the haybarrells has Lane Kiffin or Steve Sarkisian ever done in their young careers to make it to their positions?
This situation reminds me of the Sarah Palin and Dan Quayle debacles of yesteryear. People without any qualifications being failed upward. It is what it is, and how America works.
I do hope that Coach DeWayne Walker gets a shot at a Head Coaching position sometime in the near future. He does deserve it and is qualified. He has even proved that he can recruit very well.

The UCLA Mini Helmet is the troll. Please don't lump the VB crew altogether.
Time to get back to Photosynthesising
I'm a plant not a scholar
VB. I never said I minded that you posted a lot. I understand that this is a blog, and I agree you should be able to post as much as you want. My question was directed at MEANINGLESS posts that are entirely unrelated to anything ULCA. This thread already provided me with 3 wonderful examples.

Honestly though, I am fine with the idea that people should be able to post freely on a blog. My statement was directed less as a call for Dohn to regulate posting, and more as a questioning of people's maturity and use of time. Post away, but I believe the reason many people do not join in posting comments is because it is difficult to follow up these goofy comments with a legitimate question or discussion point.
Umm, Anon @ 10:38AM
Those three "wonderful" examples are not VB but rather someone poking fun at him.
You must be pretty dense not to see that...
Lighten up Francis
Am i dense or do you just not know how to read an entire question? It says VB AND his affiliates/cronies.
Nice try though. Good to see that this blog's following is wide enough to include people who did not graduate from UCLA.
HAHAHA, his cronies are the UBTA clan.
Those others are not the UBTA clan. If you don't know who is in the UBTA clan then why even bother posting about it?
So if I post as "Anonymous's Hurt Pride Because He Got Schooled" am I one of your cronies?
The point is VB cannot control people using him as the subject of their jokes, therefore why even single him out?
As a UCLA graduate I can appreciate the fact that your last comment implies that you graduated from there as well. I will just say it is good to see the rise in special admits.
Wow this thread of comments makes me miss VB. Everyone stop beating this dead horse!! Me and Anon... SHUT UP!
I would like to see VB and his minions to form a chat room of their own and lay off so many posts on this blog.
It's not so bad about VB's comments. It could be a whole lot worse.
