Here is the ninth grouping:
There was discussion here a couple of days ago regarding, for JC transfers, 1) whether there is a requirement that they complete an AA degree prior to admittance and 2) if there is, whether it is an NCAA rule or a UCLA rule. What's the story?
The NCAA rule is if a player was not eligible out of high school, he must have his AA to transfer to a Division I school. Also, he must have 40 percent of the work done toward his degree in order to be eligible. UCLA has some other things that it usually mandates, but much of the problem is with the NCAA.
On Rivals.com, Brian Price isn't ranked as one of the top 25 D-lineman in the country. He wasn't even honorable mention all american despite being 1st team all Pac 10. Isn't Price definitely a top 5-10 DL? Can't you do something about this? It makes me absolutely furious.
If that makes you furious, I'm guessing you are either related to him or you don't have a lot of other things going on. I can think of a zillion or two other things that would make me furious before whether some college kid is ranked on a meaningless list. He's really, really good. Isn't that enough?
How many points do you think the Lakers will lose to the Clippers by on Christmas day?
Lakers and Clippers? Who cares? I want to know how many points Hawaii is going to punk Notre Dame by on Christmas Eve.
Hey Brian. Like the additions to your blog re: new links. What about continuing links to other teams' local city newspaper sites? Is that too much work? You could do a week and include all of the cities.
I will do it once the Pac-10 season starts. At this juncture, I figured most papers don't cover the teams UCLA is playing in the non-conference season.
why dosent UCLA have a bigger Polynesian/Hawaiian presence?? We are near the bottom along with Stanford? Is it an academic thing? Oregon,OSU, SUC, UA, ASU even Cal seem to have alot of Polynesians on their team.
I don't know. I haven't been commissioned to do a study, but I'm sure there is some reason.
Is it true that the fellow media members caull you Dohn Corleone, the Blogfather? If this movie was made who would play you?
Oh, I like those nicknames but I can think of other (non-printable) names people call me. As far as who would play me in a movie, heck, with my looks, I'd say Russell Crowe or Brad Pitt or some other hottie. Don't you agree?
What's your opinion on Bradford winning the Heisman? Did you have a vote? If not, who was your choice?
I think Tebow deserved it. He has two interceptions and does so much for Florida, but I don't have a problem with Bradford winning it. But I do not vote.
There was a lot of (internet) hoopla surrounding the recruitment of Morrell Pressley while you were on vacation, does it look like he may switch commitments.
I think this question has been answered by Mr. Presley, himself.

I think either Toby McGuire or Tim Robbins would be good actors to cast as Brian Dohn in a movie.
I'm Hawaiian. UCLA is hard to get into from out of state. Hawaii also views UCLA as the bad guys because of the volleyball rivalry. Thus, many people tend to like USC better. Every year kids from my high school go to USC, and as far as I'm aware, I'm the only one to go to UCLA in years.
err.. didn't notice your question was about the football team specifically. Shrug, I guess the USC thing could still apply. Volleyball is huge in Hawaii.
Lakers play the Celtics on Christmas Day not the Clippers.
Cant wait to see Weis and his front butt wearing a hawaiian shirt. Wonder how many leis he needs to get around his neck?
Dohn Corleone is the best name EVER!
I want to see Hawaii put the "smack down" on Notre Dame. Go Warriors!!
