So I guess that means Martz is out of the running? There are still a few heavy hitters on that list that might make it tough for Walker. I do hope he gets a HC position, but I honestly feel that he can land a bigger program. If Sark can go to UW, and Kiffin can head up a massive program like Tennessee's, I see no reason that Walker shouldn't be considered for a more desirable opening.

Sir, respectfully object and disagree with your assessment. In an apples to apples comparison, you cannot, with any degree of seriousness, compare Coach DeWayne Walker on the one hand, and Coaches Lane Kiffin and Stefan Sarkisian. Absurd actually to try to make the apples to apples comparison.

First, the esteemed FB program across town has won 7 straight Pac-10 titles. Proven Champions of the Holy Gridiron. Coaching at the FB program across town carries a lot of weight in Football circles, just like a recommendation letter on legal letterhead carries a lot of weight.

Second, Coach Lane Kiffin has proved himself as Head Coach of the Oakland Raiders Football Organisation. Not an easy thing to do, any many esteemed sportswriters think that Sir Kiffin did a great job with the tools available for his disposal.

Third, Coach Stefan Sarkisian, has guided the No. 1 offense for various years, and been the Offensive Coordinator for teams that have won the Pac-10 League Title.

As you can see from the documentation above, the resumes of Coaches Lane Kiffin and Stefan Sarkisian is extremely thorough, well balanced, and heavy with champtionship experience. Not to mention, the blue-blood lines of family that are so important. As you may be aware, Sir Kiffin's blood pedigree goes back to his NFL coach father who gave a leg up to Coach Pete Carroll back in the NFL. Sarkisian has similar blue-blood being a heralded QB and student of the great Offensive Guru Norm Chow. The blue-blood is their most important character. Coaching and FB Championships is in their genetic code.

I like Coach DeWayne Walker a lot. But he does not have the resume or experience of Coaches Kiffin or Sarkisian. It is well documented that Coach Walker has done marvelous things the last 3 years with the Bruin Defense side of the ball, but still, the fact remains that they have been 3 losing seasons at UCLA. Not much else to speak of except Brian Davis, Brighand Harmwell, Byrce Price, and Christoff Horton. Good players, per se, but no championships there. Still, I wish Coach Walker much success in his future endeavors, whatever they may be.

Actually i believe Lane Kiffin did not prove himself as a head football coach resulting in his recent dismisal. I will admit that there isn't a whole lot of coaches that could have done much with that team though. And as far as Sarkisian goes I believe him to be some what of a let down to USC which is pretty hard to believe because of USC great success. But what the offense acomplished under Sarkasian compared to past USC offenses is realy a drop off considering the amazing talent surounding him. That's why I believe so many USC fans are happy to see him and his play calling go.

Perhaps comments should be limited to 50 words or less, particularly those by lawyers accustomed to billing by the hour and the number of words written.
Thankfully not all lawyers are pompous bores, exercising their egos on this site.

Walker has more experiance than both Kiffin ,and Sarkisian,it was only recently Walker was even given a chance by Dorrell,even though he was on Carrol's staff before Sarkisian,and Kiffin.Coach Carroll has never had a miniroty coordinator, EVER,and never will,coach Walker is fighting the good ole boy,country club system,everyone knows he is qualified for SDSU.

I'm no fan of Carroll, but I think Norm Chow would count as a minority coordinator-- who was run off.

Off the top of my head; Rocky Seto, Ken Norton Jr., Kris Richard and Todd McNair are the minorities currently on staff. As everyone knows DeWayne Walker and Norm Chow were both formerly on staff and he had a good number of minorities with him when he was with the Jets and Patriots.

As far as his coordinators, he's had three OC's and one was a minority. Although Nick Holt holds the title now, Carroll serves as his own DC.

Seems Walker would have been a better fit at UW. We know what Sark can do when he has the best talent in the nation. Evidently, most SC fans were not impressed. Meanwhile, we also know what Walker can do with 2 and 3 star recruits. Does Sark think he is going to have a roster loaded with 5 star guys?? Does UW? I have a hard time beleiving that TOP recruits in L.A., Texas, and Florida will be heading to the Pacific Northwest.

I like the Lawyer John posts, too. Reminds me of many pompous and buffoonish Trojies that I have met when they start talking about football and the so-called Trojan "family". There are some decent Trojans around, sure, but Lawyer John does remind me of certain goons.

The sad part about all this... I could care less if Walker goes or stays. Actually, boring news - same as the quality of play in our football team.
