San Diego State is down to two finalists for the football opening - DeWayne Walker and Ball State's Brady Hoke - according to a source with knowledge of the situation. The other candidate who had a second interview, Dennis Franchione, is apparently no longer being considered for the job. A decision is expected soon.

Good luck at SDSU, DeWayne!

Dwalk could do better than San Diego St. I would hope that he stays at UCLA until the offense catches up to the defense then he would get better offers. I think he would be bummed if he gets passed over and would stay at UCLA. But if he does become the new head coach I wish him the best of luck except the first game of next season.

As much as I would love to see him stay for our team's sake, DW is too talented a coach to remain an assistant. SDSU would be foolish if they did not hire him; so I think he will be their next head coach. We owe him a great debt of gratitude for his skill with our Defensive teams who gave us a shot in most of our games. Thank you for giving us something to hope for this past season DeWayne and best of luck as the new SDSU Coach!!

Here's the thing: You have a proven head coach with a 12-1 record. DW is not a proven head coach. If Ball State wins their bowl game, I think SDSU has to go with that guy.

We are going to PWN Walker so bad next year if he leaves. When San Diego State comes to the RB, we will no doubt pour 40+ on his great defense. pfffff...

Good riddance, Walker! We gave you everything! And you betray us like this????!!!

13-9 = distant memory
