Former UCLA assistant football coach and administrator Jerry Long died earlier this week after a heart attack at the age of 79.
Long was an assistant under Tommy Prothro, Pepper Rodgers and Dick Vermeil. He also spent more than a decade working in UCLA's athletic administration.
I will have more on this later today.

I remember Jerry as a very energetic and gifted young coach. I can't believe so many years have passed since I last saw him. We're all getting older, that's for sure. RIP Jerry. Go Bruins.
