Meeting in the middle

| | Comments (2) |

USC players were jumping around toward midfield before the start of the second of half, then UCLA players came over...Both teams were jawing but officials got in between players. It was much ado about nothing since nothing happened. But, USC scored on its first possession of the second half to make it a 28-7 game.

I am beginning to lose some faith in this coaching staff. His play calling was based on not to get beat too bad. How many times did the Bruins throw on first down. How many shotgun formations were there? CRN was trying to establish a running game most of the night. No 2 minute offense to start the second half.......just two running plays. We've got 3rd down and short twice in the 4th quarter and punt the football. I see no difference in the past coaching staff, really. Even if we dont have the talent, atleast give them a fighting chance. SC is constantly trying to score and blow the Bruins out, yet we just settle for trying to get first downs with zero imagination. Even the announcers were suprise that CRN "conceded" the ballgame by not be agressive on 4th down 3 times in the second half. CRN is a great talker and maybe motivator, but I'd like to see him put his money where his mouth is. I was all fired up about this hire, but so far.......big deal. And has for Chow, he will be gone after next year anyway, so what does it matter that he's in the booth. Nothing special there. I'm just disgusted and pissed at such an no effort showing on offense. Why would any decent offensive player want to play under such tight play calling. This had to be the fewest pass attempts that the Bruins have attempted all year. I'd can't wait to see the stats. Still, a dedicated fan, but offense at this university ( basketball included) is non exsistent. No more talk, CRN....as i mentioned before, please put your money where your mouth is.

That was a really classless move - and stupid too. Why rile up a team that you've been on top of for most of the half? Even the SUC fans in the stands were wondering why they didn't get called for a penalty. I thought it was a low class move and the taunting showed the team's character.
