Neuheisel's recruiting

| | Comments (16) |

Just to let everyone know how much UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel enjoys the recruiting process, I'll relay this story from a few sources.
Mater Dei of Santa Ana junior offensive lineman Chris Ward was on campus for an unofficial visit last week, and he stopped in to speak with Neuheisel. Ward said he was going to look around the campus, so Neuheisel gave him a personal tour.

hopefully Chris Ward becomes a Bruin. He is good.

When a stud like that shows up, what else are you going to do? So, this is unofficial because UCLA didn't put up any money...but Ward could still meet with Ricky?

I love the fact that Rick is so approachable and personal in his dealings with everyone...the media, his coaching staff, the players, and potential recruits. This is one heck of a guy, and we're so lucky to have him. He's putting all the pieces in place as fast as he can. Warning to all opposing teams: "In 2010 YOU'RE DEAD MEAT!"

Go Bruins.

Did UCLA get a silent verbal from Ward?

Having some inroads into MD would be a big plus. Can't recall the last MD player to commit on the FB side.

Nice move by Coach N. Probably made a heck of an impression with Ward.

That's awesome. Love having a coach that enjoys what he does that much.

Without a silent verbal this means nothing!

Ausie Bruin,

Yes, the player and coach can meet as long and as often as they want as long as it's on campus. It's considered unofficial when the university pays for nothing. The coach can't even buy the player a Coke or offer a bottle a water from his personal fridge. But talk and visiting can last all day.

It means something. It means that Ward has some interest in UCLA and that our head coach had a chance to spend a lot of personal time with the kid and show him the campus.

A lack of posting by VB has caused me to come around. Dr.'s know the only cure for me to go away is to have VB post more. It's now up to him.

I saw that. He has no cajones. But next time you start a war like that, you should take the UBTA. Have a plan to take down SUC just like CRN does... THE DAY WILL COME AND THEY KNOW IT. CRN spits game like Chick Hern. He's smooth like Eric Estrada.

CRN got more game than Nintendo.
Ol' Petey is looking over his shoulder...thats for sure. I Honestly hope they both stick around and Mike the SOCal rivalry better than that overated Michigan/OSU game.

Whats the differance between a UCLA fan in 3rd grade and a USC fan in 3rd grade? -The USC fan is fourteen.

BRIAN,

I am looking for the story that I think that you had posted recently about the difficulties in recruiting over the last few years and the athletes that were interested in UCLA , yet we weren't able to make an offer. Does anyone know where I can find that?

Thanks!!
