Running back Aundre Dean said he spoke to the coaching staff recently about his role and plans to remain at UCLA. I have more on that in Sunday's paper.

whew! A backfield of him and Milton Knox is exciting. Hopefully they are running behind a better (knock on wood) offensive line.

UPDATE:

Punting is covering the spread. Lets hear it for moral victories! Only problem is what will we do next year when Walker leaves and are defense takes a major step backwards.

Thanks Brian, for being the first to dispel the myth that he was leaving. You have certainly been one of its biggest promulgators.

Assuming DWalker goes and takes the Aztec job, what are the chances if us getting Ken Norton Jr as a replacement? If so, how would he do as a DC? I know he is a good recruiter but hard to know how he would do as DC. If not him, who else?

Can we please stop with this (fill in the SC assistant coach's name) is a good recruiter? Which assistant at SC is a horrible recruiter? None!!!! I would compare recruiting players to SC to trying to keep starving dogs from a juicy steak.

wouldn't the analogy be bringing a juicy steak to a starving dog?

Norton is a good recruiter in the inner city. Bringing a coach back to the goodside may also help these kids see that the evil empire is falling. Pom Pom is going down and he knows it. He will leave to the NFL to save face.

Personally, I just hope we continue to get better. It is better if SC continues to do well and we rise up to match them. Competition makes one better and I dont think our problems on the FB field have so much to do with Caroll and Norton as the lack of committment to the FB program at multiple levels.
