Here’s the story I wrote for today’s paper in which Rick Neuheisel denied he was using Ken Norton’s name as a possible defensive coordinator to try to sway recruits if DeWayne Walker leaves. Norton talks more about the situation as USC prepares to play in the Rose Bowl.

Cracks in Flournoy commitment?
For you late-nighters, here’s more from receiver DeVon Flournoy, a USC commit who will take his official recruiting trip to UCLA on Jan. 9. There have been rumors that Flournoy has been wavering on his commitment to USC, although he said it’s still solid.
“I realized you can’t go to school for what it has but rather how it can help you,” Flournoy said of the recruiting process. “Being a football player, you want to touch the ball as much as you can but get a degree that means something, too.”
Flournoy update
I just talked to Birmingham of Lake Balboa’s DeVon Flournoy, and he told me that he will take a recruiting trip to UCLA next month. Flournoy is a USC commit, but here’s how he characterized that commitment to USC: “It’s still strong, but anything can happen.”
Walker and Rosenbach a package deal?
The Las Cruces Sun-News is reporting that former Washington State quarterback Timm Rosenbach is in town with Walker for interviews today. New Mexico State is reportedly speaking to Walker and Rosenbach together and is looking to pair the offensive-minded Rosenbach with Walker.
Lee update
UCLA still is unsure of the extent of the injury to Malcolm Lee’s left knee. Lee injured the knee in Friday’s practice, when his knee locked up on him. He had an MRI on Saturday, which was inconclusive. The MRI was read again today by another doctor, and that was also inconclusive. UCLA was off on Monday but will return to practice tomorrow.
