UCLA locker room was upbeat with players talking about how hard they played, and at least giving a great effort in the 28-7 loss to USC.
A few tidbits are LB Akeem Ayers broke and chipped his right thumb and will undergo surgery next week to have a pin inserted in it.
Players and coaches said too many penalties (11 for 117) were committed, and cost the Bruins a chance to remain within striking distance.
