Remember when?
I asked Pat Cowan where UCLA's win 13-9 win over USC in 2006 ranks in his career, and here's his response.
``I think when I look at my UCLA career, I enjoy all of it,'' Cowan said. ``I think about morning workouts and my relationships with friends than that game.''

Straight Class as usual from Cowan
remember when? No
can't remember anything
too many hits to head
I bet QB Paul Cowan remembers how USC LB Rey Malauaga laid him out with a vicious hit in that 2006 game. To wit, I was actually very surprised that Cowan got up from that massive hit. Cowan will go down in USC-UCLA lore for many years to come.
And yes, according to the rule books it was a full legal hit. No flag was thrown by the game officials.
LAWYER JOHN
Agreed LJ. If you ignore the leading helmet to helmet contact it was a fully legal hit.
Aside from LJ managing to cite an unknown individual named "Paul Cowan", PAT Cowan's response clearly illustrates how much he truly misses the game. I truly believe that this team is going to a bowl game if he had not gone down. Granted, a lousy bowl game.
Also, I believe the pain of Rey-Rey's hit was extinguished by the endorphines of VICTORY. A certain Mr. Craft may not be so fortunate on Saturday.
Young Alum, touche. VICTORY is the sweet nectar of the gods, and Cowan drank from the chalice that day. As I said, much respect for Cowan for getting up after that vicious hit, and for leading the Bruins to victory. Lets hope for another spirited effort by the Bruins this Saturday.
SUC-UGLA Myths Dispelled (Part 4):
Most fans of the respective schools want not only to beat their rival, but to wipe them out.
The fact is that this is not in the best interest of either school, certainly not the victim, but not for the victor either. For what is sport except entertainment. Entertainment.
During the last 17-years UGLA had an 8-game winning streak and SUC had a 7-game streak. How many of those games stand out in one's mind? There was the incredible UGLA comeback where it won in overtime, SUC's win to end the streak, and UGLA's 13-9 victory to end its streak. But all the others were mostly wipeouts. Boring stuff. Boring.
Is anybody jacked about tomorrow's game? I for one want to see a competitive UGLA in football and a good SUC basketball team.
It is all about fun, folks.
LJ (the real one)
Why is it when I read Lawyer John's posts I hear Petros Papadakis' voice? It's akin to fingernails on a chalk board.
As can be seen with their off-the-field antics, Trojan definition of what's legal and what's not legal are different from most other schools' definitions.
