Brian,

I think this is the first time that I have seen you rank UCLA considerably higher than the rest of the AP. Have you gone soft on us or are you just trying to get more airtime with Howland?

Howland will never give Dohn more airtime. Howland blatantly ignored UB and I when we were yelling his name as he was walking in to the locker room.... pfff... At least BoBo looked up when we yelled his name.

I think Dohn may have UCLA a little OVERRATED at this point. Are we a top 10 team? Maybe in March, but right now the 12 and 14 ranks are just about right. We'll climb between now and mid-january when we face ASU. If we beat ASU (which I believe we will in Pauley) and take care of business between now and then, we will be poised for the top 10.

Win the P10 and UCLA has a very good shot at its 3rd consecutive #1 seed. Sorry, Gonzaga, but losses to Zona (yesterday) and UConn (this Saturday) and you won't get the #1 seed. You might just lose to St. Mary's once during conference play.

That caramel corn at the Wooden Classic was good. I might just go to a Ducks game so I could get some more.

Where'd you go anyway, Dohn? Vacation? Time off at home?

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
