What are they worth?
Here's an interesting link from the Orange County Register that will give the salary of any UC system employee. Keep in mind some of the coaching salaries do not include money paid by other sources, like apparel contracts.

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
According to the article below, Jeff Tedford is the highest paid UC employee. Without discussing the merits of a person in UC system athletic dept being the highest paid vs acamedicians, you'd think the UCLA job should pay more.

Nevermind the link I posted. You just need to poke around a bit at the Register's website. Interestingly, Ben Braun was up there in compensation as well.
