Recruiting update

I’m hearing UCLA is still not out of it for Los Angeles Cathedral High receiver Randall Carroll, and also the Bruins made plenty of headway with Kapolei (Hawaii) High offensive lineman Stan Hasiak in the last week.
In fact, I was told Hasiak was leaning toward committing to back to the Bruins. However, in this wacky recruiting season, I expect nothing.

Does anyone see this kid not being a headache wherever he lands?

I’d be very surprised if he didn’t end up transferring schools some time after his freshman year.

It is really a tough decision deciding where to go to school. Hasiak is going to be a fine player where ever he goes, he just needs to pick the school (not coaches) where he feels the most comfortable.

I sure hope he becomes a Bruin. He is much needed.

by the way… Randal Carroll was on UCLA’s campus today after the basketball game.

tough decision for a young kid, particularly with all the hype. give him a break and be thankful if he commits. actually goes for both kids.

    Hasiak ends up at………..Oregon State.

I keep hearing Randall Carroll was on campus today, but I cannot yet get it confirmed. Therefore, I did not report it.

I was hoping for a night owl special tonight saying Thigpen, Carroll, or Hasiak committed. Oh well, theres always tomorrow

Brian, I know recruiting is fluid, but wouldn’t it stand to reason that if Carroll were going to USC, he’d have spent his Saturday before signing day at the Cal/USC game and on their campus?

BD- You are right about this being a crazy year. It must be driving all the coaches out there nuts especially CRN who is in the fray full time for the first time in half a decade. As a fan who follows recruiting closely and for quite a long time, I think CRN and the coaching staff have a pretty good class coming in. Time will tell.

UCLA is a great school in a very good conference. There is a lot of opportunity in the program. USC recruits well and has a lot of good players.

On the other hand if you have 5-10 elite players at every position, especially at the skill positions – well there is only so many spots in the lineup, one ball and only so many plays a game. The players and coaches may thrive on the competition as they should but it certainly makes the odds a lot longer to get PT…

I pay more attention to recruiting than to the acrual team in place.

    I would too…they’re a bunch of stiffs…And I should know something about that topic…
