Official visits
I know some folks were wondering about this weekend's official visits, and who would be taking one to UCLA. In talking to sources, here is the list:
OL Nik Abele, Irvine
WR Randall Carroll, L.A. Cathedral (USC commit)
LB Taniela Maka, Long Beach Jordan (Arizona commit)
WR De'Von Flournoy Lake Balboa Birmingham (USC commit)
ATH Markus Wheaton, Chandler, Ariz.
DB Marlon Pollard, San Bernardino Cajon (Notre Dame commit)
TE/DE Billy Sanders, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Lake City (Miami commit)
UCLA commits
QB Richard Brehaut, Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos
WR Ricky Marvray, Corona Centennial
CB Brandon Sermons, Pomona Diamond Ranch
LB Isaiah Bowens, La Puente Bishop Amat
DB Sheldon Price, La Puente Bishop Amat
OL Greg Capella, Visilia El Diamante
ATH Alex Mascarenas, Mission Viejo
LB Todd Golper, Arcadia
OL Eddie Williams, Mt. SAC
DT Branden Warner, Compton College

This is

I honestly want Randall Carroll and Flournoy to de-commit from USC, not necessarily to go across town but head somewhere else.
Not that they're bad players or people, it's just that it takes more effort to hold on to soft verbal commits than to completely find new ones.
Why don't you go to SUC's blog and tell them what you want? We don't care here.
Seriously...
Hot diggety !
That is a good list.We may end up with a recruiting class in the top twenty, yet. If we can keep Stan Hasiak and get Teo and Phillip and some of these guys, then watch out SUC in 2010.
Brian
Once again, thank you for your information and hard work. Your blog is essential daily reading for any Bruin dedicated to the enhancement of UCLA athletics. On the recruiting, we still seem to lack DTs. Hopefully, that will be focused on before the first week of Feb.
Go Bruins. Go Brian.
Brian, is Tepa (DE from LBP) coming this week, or is he staying firm with his Hawai'i commitment?
Tepa has visits set with Hawaii (Jan. 9), Oregon (Jan. 16), Colorado (Jan. 23) and UCLA (Jan. 30). Greg Biggins now says Oregon leads with him.
What in the blue hell is Marlon Pollard doing on this list? He stiffed us once so why should we let him ride the gravy train?
ok i kinda dont understand why we'd take Pollard back if we wouldn't take Kavienga back last year when we really NEEDED him.
Where is Stanley ?
HES GOING TO SUC
SUC THIS STANLEY~!
Pollard is an impact player who meets the minimum grade requirements. What's the confusion?
Hey 909Bruin, the reason UCLA did not take Kavienga last year when he wanted back in was because the other incoming players did not get along with him. Brian reported this last year, the staff wanted to keep the chemistry the incoming class had.
I can attest to Dohn's Evil Twin statement about Kavienga. In fact, it is my understanding that the players at the programme across town do not get along with Ullona Kavienga either.
ok thanks guys
