About Inside UCLA
This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.About this Entry

Is the new DC in tow?
Do the coaches still recruit players like Martinez who gave verbals to USC?
Dohn-
Previously you mentioned a silent commit that would be announcing in January..I have forgotten the timeframe you thought he might go public??
Two things,
Coaches will recruit players who commit to other schools, but in the case of Martinez, there isn't much interest being reciprocated, so I don't think UCLA will bother with him.
As for the silent, I'm thinking it could be in the next seven days. We shall see.
Brian,
Based on what you have heard, will there be an announcement on a new DC and/or any other staff changes to coincide with our big recruiting weekend coming up? Or is there no timetable and it may take another couple of weeks?
