Remember him?
Here is a story the New York Times ran on former UCLA offensive coordinator Jay Norvell, who is now an assistant coach at Oklahoma.
Here's one interested tidbit about Norvell's one season, which was Karl Dorrell's last as coach: Although Norvell was trained in the West Coast offense, it varied from the WCO Dorrell ran. Therefore, Norvell wasn't exactly an expect on the offense he was being asked to run.

Brian,
Please, don't remind us - not only Norvell, but the whole Dorrell experiment.
Norvell was placed in a difficult situation by KD by trying to install a completely new offensive scheme to an already challenged offensive unit. I think he would have been better utilized as a Receivers Coach (& possibly Asst. OC) to start, while maintining the previous offensive package. The WCO should have been inplemented in small doses over a period of time. The team looked confused from the start and never seemed to buy into the new program.
Not the guy all the bruin fans make him out to be.
Not without screaming in agony.
I'm glad he is demonstrating his genius elsewhere.
