On Hasiak
I spoke to Kapolei (Hawaii) High offensive lineman Stan Hasiak briefly Monday night, and he said he wasn't sure what school he was going to sign with on Wednesday.
He added he was taking time to sort things through with his family, and was also trying to avoid talking to coaches from the schools recruiting him so he can make a decision without distraction.
According to sources, Hasiak is leaning toward UCLA, but California and Washington are also in play.

Last year the coaching staff expected to get a LOI from Hemani Stevens on this exact same day and did not get it so I think Hasiak is off to Cal.
Brian, just want to say thanks for keeping us Bruin faithful up to date. You're really earning that paycheck!

so because they didn't get a signature from a recruit on this day last year we won't get one from Hasiak???? nice reasoning
And the wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round...
Somebody remind me next year to avoid all recruiting news until the recruit has actually signed the NLI and the school has received it. I remember being 17-18 years old, and I had a hard enough time deciding where to eat lunch let alone where to spend the next 4+ years training for a possible professional career. And then add your family, friends, and celebrity coaches calling/texting/emailing/sending smoke signals trying to influence you? Forget it. I love hearing that he's trying to make this decision with his family and keeping all the coaches away.
Although the decision to attend UCLA is painfully obvious to us as alumni and fans, I have a lot of sympathy for these kids, kids who are trying to make the right decision that could potentially affect the rest of their lives.
Regardless of where Stan chooses to go to school, I hope he makes the right decision for him and not for anyone else.
And now I will step down to allow someone else to get up on this soapbox...

I know how you feel. Last year I expected a Ferrari for my birthday, but didn't get. So I figure I'm not getting a Corvette this year either.
Here we go again...
Just to confirm.....but isn't this now a dead period and no coaches can speak to recruits at this point anyways. Am I correct on that? The post said that Hasiak wanted to avoid coaches and make a decision, but I believe that no coaches can have contact with him until he announces right?
Good for this kid, he's got three great academic schools to choose from. If he ends up at OSU I'm going to lose it.
I need to get off the recruiting roller coaster, I'm getting sick from all the movement. Props to Brian Dohn for staying all over it - someone get him some dramamime.

Brian, aren't we in a dead period, so coaches can't talk to him anyway?
Coaches can make calls, but there is no face-to-face contact allowed.
Brian,
Thank you for all of the information you provide all Bruin fans. There ought to be a law that prohibits all high school seniors from holding press conferences to announce their decisions;there are more important things in life to be concerned about.
Why did USC stop recruiting Hasiak? Were there problems?
The trojies stopped recruiting Hasiak because he's coming to Cal! Silly teddies.
