Position change?

I'm hearing UCLA running back Derrick Coleman could be shifted to fullback in the spring because the Bruins need more depth and competition at fullback.

The Kaiser pop up ads may be the most annoying thing on the web--I cannot read this blog for two seconds before the ad pops up again.

I think they got a good one in Jayson Allmond. With both Theriot and Moline they need another one??

they want a Fullback that isn't a walk on or an overrated prospect. I don't blame them. Coleman can be a deadly weapon with his speed and catching ability out of the backfield. And there's also the chance that after a redshirt year Allmond moves to DT. This is a smart move.

I cant stand the Kaiser pop up. It kept blocking my view of the BB chat Saturday.

Coleman was recruited as a FB but our OL was so bad that they had to play the biggest TBs that they could find so they moved him last year. This move allows us to have a blocking FB (Theriot), a pass catching FB (Moline), and a speed guy at the same position. Coleman should be a good goal line TB also.

ur exactly right anonymous 7:42,a weapon out of the backfield is the plan, make the defense guard everybody.

If you use a browser like Firefox then you won't even see the Kaiser ads- it blocks them. Its free. Download.com

I think there are pop-up blockers for IE as well?

there are pop-up ads? Maybe you old-timers should update your technology; I haven't seen a pop-up add in years.

But even if you can't figure it out, don't complain too much, as those ads help keep Brian Dohn employed.

Why? D Coleman is the best running back on the team. Nobody is even close. Rick and Norm are stupid. No wonder they can't score any points.

Could be? So are u saying that there is still a possibility that he plays tail back? But I don't understand this decision if it's made. Yes ucla is thin at fullback and have loads of potential at tailback currently but didn't Coleman prove enough this past season. If i remember correctly on his limited number of carries he averaged decent yardage with a big play once in a while. And I'm sure the kid would rather play tailback then fullback so why not give him a chance ?

Wrong, Coleman was recruited as a RB. SC recruited him as a fullback.

I like the call and I thought it would be inevitable. A fullback with size, speed and can carry the ball. That just gives us more options. Coleman with Dean, Knox, Thigpen, Ramirez, Franklin etc. in the backfield. LBers and safeties trying to stop Thigpen and Franklin from getting outside. Play action with him coming out of the backfield while having Carroll taking a couple of guys deep and Pressley being double covered will work for me. Having Sua filo and Hasiak etc. knocking a couple of guys down. Things are sounding better all the time.

Hello spastics,

I think that Rick & Norm know what they are doing. Look at the talent UCLA has at RB-they've got to make their move now and find out who the two top backs are going to be out of that bunch.

Sure, Coleman was productive; but they need a quality FB and just because he's going to fullback doesn't mean he will just be a blocker.

Good coaching move. KYP=know your personnel.
