Remember him?

UCLA transfer Ryan Wright, now a junior center at Oklahoma, is playing a bit role for the second-ranked Sooners. He is averaging 2.3 points and 2.3 rebounds while playing 8.6 minutes per game.
Wright averaged 1.9 points per game in his two seasons at UCLA.

Thank you for the update on him! I was wondering how he was doing!

The 0.4 ppg improvement was sure worth sitting out a year!

Let's check on Chace Stanback in a year.

Instead of bashing these guys, we should be thanking them for freeing up scholarships for future Bruins!

I was Ryan's roommate freshman year. Great guy and great athlete. He was our highest rated recruit in that class, and unfortunately, it didn't pan out that way in D-1.

You're really great at your job Brian. Thanks!

BleedBlue...do you still talk with him? How does he feel about his role at Oklahoma?

No, I don't speak with him anymore. I could imagine that based on his personality he is probably not stoked. He definitely considered himself the best incoming player to UCLA due to his success in high school, and the NBA was definitely a dream for him. Needless to say that it is no longer a feasible dream.

It shows that even coach Howland, one of the best in the business, makes mistakes when it comes evaluating talent.

Who knows what would have happened if he decided to stay at UCLA instead, may be could have gotten more playing time here.

Speaking of Oklahoma, its pretty impressive that they rise so fast after the wreck Kelvin Sampson left them.
