Shawn Johnson update
I talked to a few sources about College of the Canyons offensive lineman Shawn Johnson, and was told he will not sign a letter of intent because of his academic situation. He still has a lot of work to do, and remains a long shot to qualify, according to my sources.
However, if he does get the work done, he told UCLA he will enroll in the summer.
Again, I volunteer to tutor.
Dohn, your doing a great job but it looks like the Times has scooped you on Carrol committing to UCLA.

My bet is that Dohn knew about Carroll, but wanted to let the news break on TV, just like for Sua-Filo. He does not want to spoil these kids moments of glory, but he gives us a hint by telling us which way they are leaning.
I just read that Reeves Nelson was suspended from school because of an accident involving alcohol. What a stupid idiot. Howland should withdrawal our offer to him. The dude is a schlub and does not deserve to play for UCLA.
