Here is the seventh set:

Do you have any idea why UCLA, which ended the season ranked in the polls at 17 & 18 which would translate to a # 5 seed, was given the 3rd out of the four #6 seeds, which would be the equivalent of a # 23 ranking?
The rankings are subjective and the selection committee decided UCLA should be ranked No. 21 to No. 23. When considering the seedings, the committee has to follow certain criteria. Teams from the same conference cannot play until the Sweet 16, so Marquette and West Virginia, both No. 6 seeds, could not be in the east. It left Arizona State and UCLA as the other No. 6 seeds.

Just curious ....... Were you able to get any further comments from Alfred's parents about their USA and UCLA experiences before they returned to Cameroon?
They are still here, and will not go home until Sunday. Not sure if you saw the story Jill Painter did, but she talked to them. But I have not talked to them. I don't want to intrude.

I believe Robert Kibble was forced to retire a few years back due to an illness. Can you give us an update on Robert, because I always hoped he would succeed.
I know he was on target to graduate, and he told me in December he wanted to get into coaching and was trying to become a grad assistant. That didn't work out at UCLA, and I'm not sure what he is doing now.

What are the coaching staff's primary goals for Spring practice? Choosing a QB, finding explosive playmakers on offense, building depth on the lines?
Finding a quarterback and sorting out the offensive line. They already know who the explosive play-makers can be, and there isn't a long list. Getting reps for the younger players is key.

Do you have the graduation rates for the football and basketball teams?
Nope.

Last year Aboya said they don't practice against the zone. Does Howland hate the zone that much that he won't let his practice players learn it? Isn't that what practice players are for? What is your take?
They do some practice against it now, when it comes to game prep. They had to for Arizona State and Arizona, as well as some other schools.

Brett Nottingham
Tyler Shreve
Pete Thomas
Which one of these kids will UCLA offer a football scholie too ?
Maybe all, but my bet is Thomas will be the first.

Are football coaches allowed to bet on basketball?
Nope.

Who is BoBo and does he like the nickname?
It is UCLA hoops freshman center J'mison Morgan, and he likes it. He has it tattooed on his calves.

late question:

What did you think of the officiating at last nights game?

Technically, since you are not allowed at the practices, isn't it hard for you to honestly know what was and wasn't practiced? Think about it? Part of Ben's ploy?
