About those throwing, running the ball
Here is the story I wrote for today's paper about UCLA's running back situation, as well as a notebook that includes the injury to quarterback Kevin Prince.
I know a lot of people are intrigued by the weight gain by a lot of UCLA's players, and I talked to linebacker Akeem Ayers about it after Tuesday's practice.
He gained 20 pounds in the offseason and was at 255, but he said the coaching staff asked him to drop some of the weight and he is now at 248.

Brian,
Raymond Carter is a redshirt sophomore, not a junior.
Dohn,

I will be doing both.

im rooting for Barcalona though since their my team on FIFA06...lol
Good Luck to your team
Is it just me or does it seem like Chow has pretty much decided that Prince and Ramirez are superior (which they might be) without really letting spring practice get in the way? I hope people do not get the impression he is playing favorites.
I find it hard to believe that Ayers was ever up to 255. I just can fathom that kids can add and drop weight with that relative of ease, but I may be wrong.
All that being said, I believe ideal playing weight for Ayers LB'ers in general is around 245-250, so Ayers fits in perfectly.
So with 19 career carries, Ramirez is the go-to guy? Even Coleman had more carries last year as a freshman.
