About Inside UCLA
This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.About this Entry

Was this just routine "maintenance" or did he have an undisclosed injury that was partially responsible for his lack of playing time down the stretch?
Brian, was this at all bothering him during regular season play?
Nonetheless, this will be a set back in his development.
Any idea how long he's had that injury?
I hope he recovers well. I also hope this doesn't hurt his off season conditioning. Get Well Big Guy!
For athletes you can have a sprained ankle or brain surgery and the recovery time is always stated as four to six weeks.
I don't think this will significantly hamper his off-season conditioning.
He has until October and the physical therapy involved in coming back from this type of injury might just give him the routine and focus he needs to apply himself properly.
As part of "UCLA Night" Ben Howland is going to throw out the first pitch tonight in the Dodgers v. Giants match-up.
D'oh! I was late to the game cuz of work! Did I really miss that?!
BruinChick, haha yea we missed it too. Got to our seats at the bottom of the 1st. We didn't even know that Coach had thrown out the first pitch til half way through the game haha.
