Neuheisel unhappy with offense
UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel was not happy about today's practice from an offensive standpoint. He said the "onus" was on the offense to match the defense's intensity fro day-to-day, and he was ticked off at the effort being given. I will have much more on it in Tuesday's paper.
Also, plenty of important players missed practice with injuries, including tight end Morrell Presley (infected cut), linebacker Reggie Carter (eye infection), center Kai Maiava (ankle sprain), tight end Nate Chandler (knee) and linebacker Sean Westgate (concussion).

And the injury bug keeps on biting. Ugh. Is it too much to ask to go one season...ONE SEASON...without losing half our players to injury? Here's hoping they all get well soon and reach the peak of health at just the right time. And for the healthy ones...come on boys, kick it into high gear!!! GO BRUINS!
Oh yeah, and thanks for the excellent updates as usual, BD!
I'm not quite ready to call off the season based on a few minor injuries and 1 or 2 possibly serious ones (Paulsen, Westgate). Let's not lose hope in April.
New season, same story. UCLA offense struggling, in both production and effort thus far this spring.
Disappointing to say the least.
"to match the defense's intensity fro day-to-day"
If I'm having a bad hair day, I too have an "intense fro". lol Just kidding.

I would imagine that all teams have a few guys not palying because of injury. Osu comes to mind, their qb has been out all spring + the Rodgers brothers have played very little this spring. UO has not had Blount for most of spring + 2 or 3 of their top linemen (they might be in our situation last year coming up this year. Thye lost 6 of the 2 deep on the o line plus Hamani Stevens left for his mission. With a couple of their projected starters already injured, they might be in bad shape.
I don't know that we have more injuries than most teams. Certainly we have injuries, and last year was completely nuts with losing 2 QBs in one day, but last I checked the Ducks made it to a bowl game with their 4th string QB and a JC transfer at RB. The more serious issue for the Bruins is depth. When you lose starters and are plugging in 2-star recuits and walk-ons as replacements you probably are not going to have a lot of wins. USC had tons of injuries last year. The difference was that their replacements were 4-star recruits. We have finally amassed a lot of talent at RB, and QB so things should be as bleak in the future when we lose skill position players. O line? Now that is still going to take some additional work.

j doe
They made it to a bowl game mostly because they had a great O line and some very talented running backs, recievers etc. Thei O line had 2 guys that were All Pac 10 for 2 years or more. If you have blockers and blockers that are good and have played a while together, that can make the runners, QB and recievers look good.
If Rick is mad now, just wait until the season starts.
even our recruits are injured.
Carroll has a broken leg!!!! WTH!!!

can you confirm this Dohn??
We've heard lots and lots about #1-#3 quarterbacks but does anyone have any info on Nick Crissman? Rumour had it, he was ready to compete in spring practice. Is he getting reps? Is he the #4 quarterback? Anything?
Brain says that Crissman is a non factor for the starting job.
