Pre-practice funnies
UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel is putting an interesting twist on the last practice of the spring, and leading into Saturday's spring game.
All the seniors are dressed in coaches gear, and each will be "coaching" during the practice. The defensive linemen added their own twist by wearing walking boots, emulating (mocking) defensive line coach Todd Howard, who is still struggling with his gait after undergoing heel surgery.

Oh that's really original Slick....come on man, get real clever if you want to lighten things up, like having Will Ferrell run around in his speedo (I damn near busted a gut on that one), or having an asst. coach 'fake abuse' a bunch of walkons (that son of mine is brilliant!) or best of all, have a player fake that he is jumping off a parking structure!

Just practice already, you need it. He might as well have let them jump the fence again.
Funny. I like that they're having a bit of fun with things. (Mind you, not "Will Farrell running around in a speedo" fun, but regular low-key fun). I think it will help ease a bit of nervousness and stress and hopefully help the players feel a bit more of a bond with one another and the coaches. Definitely better than an "over the wall" at any rate.
I wonder if this will have a positive effect on the seniors' setting up and showing leadership during the summer and in the fall. This sounds like a clever way, easy way to accomplish several different goals.
