UCLA loses commitment

Just got in after being away for a few hours and wanted to pass along that Los Alamitos receiver Paul Richardson has de-comitted from UCLA, leaving the Bruins with no commitments for the 2010 class.
There have been rumblings of this happening for the last month, and Richardson is finally ready to pull the trigger and say he is opening up his recruitment.
From my understanding, UCLA will remain in the picture for the short term, but I’m not sure how this will shake out.

After the way Neu’s crew closed out LOI day last year, this kind of info doesnt phase me. Unlike the Dorrell years, I have the strong belief that Neu will deliver a strong recruiting class each and every year.

damn… i know that commitments this early often have delicate thought processes concerning what school they are choosing, but come on. We should be showing a little something with our commit list to give other recruits a reason for looking into ucla’s program. There may be silent connections between neuheisel and the recruits but having no physical proof may leave some potential bruin athletes thinking twice.

That is my take as well. Last year looked pretty bleak going into LOI week.

Let’s not panic-the June camps may be the beginning of the harvest.

Hope he makes the right choice for him, once he takes the time to do a proper evaluation of his opportunities.
