Jill you're doing a good job.....it's that time of the year where spring training and scrimmage is over, basketball is over. So there is nothing much to talk about, it's not your fault.

This has turned into a microcosm of society. Everyone is so hyper-sensitive and politically correct it is disgusting. This is one of the reasons why our country has become so soft. Everyone is walking around on egg shells worrying about hurting peoples feelings. Don’t score too many runs in little league it might hurt the kids feeling.

People aren’t making fun of the post because it was written by a woman they are making fun of it because it was stupid.

In all seriousness, I'd like to see VB's account banned from this board. I find his comments extremely offensive. I believe Brian Dohn has kicked people off for just trolling and insulting sports teams, which is nowhere near and bad as this.

You're right guys! I got way too hot-headed. I find it amusing how VB condemned others as "sexist pigs" and turns around and takes an unprovoked swipe at my ethnicity. I never took a shot at Jill based on her gender, however, I did convey my dismay over the lack of newsworthiness of the "what if" post--albeit diplomatically. I actually have respect for people who are honest about being prejudice/racist, but I can't tolerate hypocrites and internet gangsters like VB. Visitors on this site have every right to make observations(whether positive or negative) so for you to bring in race just shows your cowardice. Try doing it in person buddy.

Ignorant people don't understand the concept of civility. Ignorant people, for example, believe that freedom of speech allows them to be vulgar. These people look for external rules to limit their actions and don’t have internal restrain……they are like children always testing the rules until an adult tells them that it is wrong.

Jill may have written a stupid comment. Yes, people are allowed to comment, but this does not mean that one should be offensive or insulting. They hide their insults behind the argument that she is a writer and she should be used to criticism…..criticism is one thing, rudeness is another (maybe this concept is to complex for people to understand).

There is no rule that limits people from being rude, but people should have the sense not to do it. If you don’t like it, don’t visit the site until next week when Dohn comes back.

i guess you havent seen other football blogs or any blogs that follow sports on a wide scale or you would have never made that statement about the SEC ruling college football. if it wasnt for USC, the Pac-10 would not receive any love. SEC posters are some of the most ignorant, racist, trollin' a-holes around and they make these post look like grade school. maybe if UCLA fans would support their bloggers and players, bickering between fans wouldnt happen, like in this thread. its all smoke and mirrrors because any dummy can make a post but at least dont attack your own and definitely dont credit the SEC with all their backwood logic and west coast hatred!
