Thanks, Jill. We appreciate your hard work and the info you give us. Before you sign off and hand over to the Dohnster, could you give us anything new on the NCAA investigation into possible forthcoming USC infractions? As a coach, I would love to see the cheaters' heads roll.
Jill - Thanks for taking on the additional work. I'm sure you're plate is full, but taking on a littel bit extra is always appreciated.
Thanks, Jill! Appreicate the time...sorry not everyone is as patient!
Coach, with all due respect, there is no need to air out USC's dirty laundry on a UCLA blog. In all honesty, there have been no NCAA violations. Just allegations which are not facts. It is just a junkie, convicted felon, failed sportswriter trying to stir up the pot and sell his book. No need to believe the hype.
LAWYER JOHN
Jill,
Thank you for filling in for Brian. I appreciate your work and your patience.
All the best,
"Coach Howland SF alumni event"
Thank the lord. This has been painful. I guess what they say is true. You don't know what you have until you lose it. Welcome back Dohnster.
get lost Laywer Joke (couldn't get into second choice). Keep your head in the sand like so many other trojans (oh wait, you aren't a trojan). He talked to the feds and has evidence, that's why the ncaa is listening. Everyone knows Mayo and Bush got paid. Everyone knows agents have access to sports facilities and offices in south central. The ncaa has been protecting $C for years.
Lack of institutional control is obvious, but suc gets a free pass every year. Why hasn't cheater Floyd made any denials? $C is the worst of the worst. Floyd and Carroll are complete scumbags. Why is it that suc allows Guillory, Johnson and these junkie convicted fellons to roam free inside the programs and university? Pathetic!!!The entire institution is full of corruption. This is a bruin board. Everybody is waiting for thug U to fall. The discussion in on boards all across the country.
Just go away. How sad a pretend trojan has to troll on bruin boards spewing garbage.
I believe Lawyer John has had many reincarnations, and the pity is the latest one is sadly lacking in the rapier cut and thrust of the previous ones. He or she has now become tired, blunted, and irrelevant. As Bruins095 has so succinctly put it, 'just go away.'
Thanks for all of your hard work, Jill!
Thank you, Jill.
confered with the Jedi UCLA Counsel I have.
from padewon to Jedi Knight you are promoted.
dismiss the angry comments you must.
fear (of Dohn never returning) to anger leads.
great fear i sensed in this blog.
to the galaxy, balance must return.
LOL. And Barry Bonds was only getting vitamin shots from BALCO.
Thank you, Jill. :)
How's the JV girls field hockey team doing this season, Coach Thom?
To DFWTrojan:
If I had the knowledge of the game, I would love to coach the JV girls hockey team. Anyone keenly dedicating themselves to higher accomplishments in sport should be supported, tutored, and channeled in the right direction. By the way, just for your information, field hockey is based on soccer...as is our wonderful game of football. Those who are uneducated in the sport assume it is based on Rugby, a physical contact sport named after a school in England. Although it has some similarities to Rugby (and Rugby League, a professional off-shoot) the number of players is taken from soccer (11 per side) as are many of the positions. To satisfy your curiosity, I coach football, or American Football, or Gridiron (as it is known throughout most of the world.)
Thanks, Jill. Hope you will keep in mind that the vast number of readers deeply appreciate your efforts on our behalf to feed our interest in knowing what's going on with Ucla athletics. We understand this is an extra effort on your part and we appreciate it. We know it would have been easier for you had your stint coincided with, say, football which you actually cover as part of your "day job." Anyway, personalities use the web and its easy cover for various reasons - you understand that, certainly, and therefore I hope you'll put aside the idiot comments and appreciate that your efforts are appreciated.
Coach Thom,
Good thing UCLA has the all time records in a sport actual created in the U.S., BASKETBALL!!!
P.S. Origins of our football: check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_football
After reading Wikipedia, would you agree American football has much more in common with rugby than association football (soccer)? Rugby with it's end zone where you "touch down" a try, kick extra points through goal posts, line up for scrums (scrimmage), kick ahead (punt), use a ball shaped like American footballs from the 1930s, etc.
And to head off any ideas that rugby came from association football, check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_football .
Ice hockey, field hockey or lacrosse, yeah, more like soccer with sticks ....
