One seldom hears about an undrafted quarterback making the regular season active roster.
What are the odds for P.Cowan?
Honestly, I hope he gets a job in the NFL. Pat supplied us with the best highlight in practically the past decade. However signing as a undrafted rookie means little more than a chance to go to mini camp. I could see him possibly on a scout team because of his giant heart but in reality chances are pretty slim. Harwells contract was signed and torn up the next day.
He's got a shot - look at who the backups are. Brunell and Harrington, both on the downside of their careers. I could see them keeping one of the two as the "veteran" and taking a shot at Cowan as the #3 guy and seeing how he does in the system.
I don't see where I said that Cowan is next year's starter or even 2nd string (or better than those two). Brees is the QB for the next several years - he will likely be there longer than Brunell/Harrington's contracts last. Why pay a significant salary to both of them to be 2 and 3 on the depth chart? It makes sense for the Saints to keep 1 and start looking for someone who can develop into a longer term (and cheaper) option as backup.
Yeah, Mike H is right all the way around and he never wrote that he thought Cowen was better than Brunell/Harrington. Typical Bruin B.S. seems to lack reading comprehension skills.
where did he say Cowan (not Cowen) is better? brings up reading comprehension skills. Classic!!! Is this Joe McKnight?
when did an $C QB win a Super Bowl?
Typical Bruin B.S
Brunell was never a FIRST ROUND draft pick. He was a FIFTH ROUNDER fyi
