Recruiting talk
Although head coaches are not allowed out because of NCAA rules, UCLA's football staff is spread across the country recruiting.
One interesting twist is that on-campus recruiting coordinator Angus McClure is out recruiting, a move made because special teams coach Frank Gansz Jr. took a leave of absence after his father, Frank Sr., died unexpectedly last month following complications from surgery.
McClure passed the NCAA-mandated test, which is why he is allowed to be recruiting off campus.

when on earth will the Bruins land a few good recruits? Stanford has an entire team already on board for '10.
SpedJones:
Have you not been paying attention? Brian has said this several times, during the Dorrell era, the coaches made the mistake of offering too early and we all know what the result of that was. They did this because they were afraid of competing with other schools, i.e. SUC. This coaching staff wants to evaluate talent correctly, unless they are irrefutable talents. They want to recruit based on what they see on the field and not how many stars they have on the internet recruiting sites. Therefore, they will wait until after the Summer evaluation period before going after kids hard, even those already offered. SUC has done this consistently and it seems to have worked out fine for them.
Brian:
Have you seen or taken this test? How hard is it?
It is a timed, open book test.
SC has 7 already, Stanford 10 and cal 5.
Wishes his tests at UCLA were open book, although it may not have made a difference. HAHAHAHA.
