Here is the fifth set:

Would it be possible for you to interview B. Warner gorilla style, much like Al Roker with Speidi? Or as a reporter, do you just write what Warner tells you without putting his feet to the coals and telling him his story sounds implausible?
If you have a problem with my reporting style, I'm sorry to hear that. I know I ask tough questions, I question when things don't sound right, but at the end of the day my job is to report what is said. If you don't like, oh, well.

Are we really in it for Markeith Ambles because i heard there is some warning signs about him?
I'm told UCLA has a realistic shot for him.

Five Guys or In-N-Out?
Double-double with no tomato, please.

Regarding the B. Warner interview question, what do you perceive as the difference between a television interview and a newspaper one. Is or should there be any difference?
Most newspaper reporters are more informed and do not just look for cliché sound bites to put on television. There should be no question, but the reputation of most television reporters is they ask easy questions and want to be friends with the players rather than get the story. Not all are like that, but I find many are.

haiku questions gone
replaced by crab boat questions
does this annoy Dohn?
No issues at all
Deadliest catch is best show
Drama is intense

Do you think 4 is a good over/under for bruins to be drafted in the next nfl draft? Which would you take?
It depends on whether Brian Price leaves (as I suspect he will). If he leaves, the draft picks will be Price, Verner and perhaps Reggie Carter and Terrence Austin. I would definitely take the under, though.

Who will be the basketball go-to scorer next season?
Got me. As soon as they have a practice, perhaps it will be a better time to figure it out.

Would Collison have been better off draft-wise if he had gone pro last year
No, I don't think so. I think he is projected being the same spot this year as last year.

I think Malcolm Lee will be the closest thing, but with all the inexperience the scoring will have to be spread around next year.

The Warner/Roker question wasn't meant to question your reporting style, but, rather to ask if you feel the priority in interviewing is to write what is said to you or to question the plausibility of some of the answers given to you. For what it's worth, I enjoy your writing.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
