Collison readying for draft
Here is a story I wrote for today's paper on former UCLA point guard Darren Collison as he readies for Thursday's NBA draft.
Also, I asked Collison if he paid attention to any of the mock drafts available in cyberspace.
"One day I'm trying to figure out where I'm going, one day I have no idea where I'm going, one day I'm excited,'' he said. "One day, I'm like, 'man, what happens if this team picks me.' There's so many mixed emotions because you don't really know where you're going. It's crazy.''

and with the 29 pick The Los Angeles Lakers pick Darren Collison out of UCLA !!
Good luck DC! I know you'll do well no matter what team you end up on. And I look forward to cheering for you in the NBA (even if you end up on the Lakers....I guess. ;P)
Lakers make sense figuring how much Phil likes small guards with limited range.
good luck DC
All I will ever remember about Darren Collison is how he quit on his teammates near the end of the Memphis Final Four game in 2008. After being overmatched the entire game he intentionally committed his 5th foul out of complete frustration. Where I was watching, the overwhelming consensus was that we'd NEVER want that guy on our team. Complete quitter.
Actually, it does kind of embody the Bruin spirit.
Actually, I was sitting court side, right where Collison committed the foul, and he was being instructed to do so by coach Ben Howland. I even asked Howland about it afterward.
basketball......isn't there a true sport we should be discussing here? Thugs ramming a ball through a hoop doesn't constitute 'sport' to me.
The ignorance of some people is astounding.
